SUPER IMPORTANT

Everyone needs to go see Drillbit Taylor this weekend. Nate Hartley, one of the stars, is a friend of mine, and it is REALLY important that it has a big opening weekend. The more people who go and see it, the more money he makes. I'm going to see it tonight, I will post a review tomorrow. :)

Which Is Worse

So my actor friends and I have been trying to decide which is worse:

Not hearing anything back from an audition, OR

Getting called back, finding out you are one of the top choices and THEN never hearing back!

My friend was "on avail" (meaning he was one of the top three choices) for a voice over campaign for a beer company. After waiting several days, they called to say he had been selected but they were going to postpone the campaign until further notice because they might want to re-think the spot!

Another friend of mine was "on avail" for a sports drink commercial and then after a two weeks of waiting they released him!

It is really frustrating when you don't hear anything back and it is encouraging to know you got close, but it really is SUPER frustrating after waiting and hoping, knowing you are close, and then not booking the job. The good thing is, though, that sometimes when you get close and then they "go a different way" they remember you for the next commercial they cast.

Small World

I ran into a friend of mine from New York City yesterday during the day. His name is Jonas, and we were in a play together in New York City about three years ago. I didn't even know he lived in Los Angeles. It was so nice to see him and I really like running into people from the East Coast unexpectedly out here.

Last night I went to see a friend of mine in a play called 1776. Before the play, the person I went to see the show with and I went to eat at a restaurant in Hollywood called Citizen Smith. It was AMAZING. The atmosphere reminded me of Zanzibar in NYC. Rebel Without a Cause was playing silently on a flat screen television and the restaurant was just dark enough with candles everywhere. The food was really good too!

1776 is one of the few plays I had never seen, and it was really interesting. The actors were great and the play itself is a history lesson! I really enjoyed it.
