Swing Dancing

Last night I went swing dancing and it was so much fun! They had a Valentine's Day theme with a table in the lobby for making Valentine's for your friends.

The place was packed, but not so packed that there wasn't room for dancing. In the middle of the evening, they had a Jack and Jill Speed Dancing competition. Generally for swing dancers a Jack and Jill competition means that you are assigned a partner a few minutes before beginning and that is who you compete with, but since it was a speed dancing competition, every 50 seconds a gong sounded and the competitors got new partners. There was a screen that scrambled the dancer's numbers and when the scrambling stopped and showed the pairs, they had to frantically find who they were to dance with and jump right in. It was very funny to watch and they gave really nice prize baskets.

My friend, Mandy, goes swing dancing every Thursday after work and I think I'm going to make it a habit. I met a lot of interesting people and had a great time dancing. :)

BLOG 300

I can't believe that this is my 300th blog! Happy Valentine's Day everyone:)

Last night I went out with some people from work to a really cool place called Marix. They are known for their Margarita Mondays ($4.00 each) and Taco Tuesdays (all you can eat $7.95). The place was packed while we were there, it is definitely a hot spot. Apparently Jennifer Aniston and Corteney Cox are regulars there.

It is apparent that the strike is over. As of yesterday, many television shows are back in production and it seems like casting may be picking up a little bit too. Hopefully I will have some exciting auditions and news of bookings shortly.

Queen Christina Goes Roman

Yesterday afternoon I went to lunch with a friend of mine to a really cool restaurant in Los Feliz. It is called Fred 62 and it seemed to be really popular. We had to wait for a table but the food was totally worth the wait. She said that she goes there a lot and always sees famous people. We had a really nice time and then I went and hung out at her apartment for a bit.

In the evening I went to see a play called "Queen Christina Goes Roman". My friend, Thomas Colby was in it and it was awesome. It reminded me of the shows friends of mine used to do in New York City. The first act was funny and the second act was dramatic. I went with three friends of mine and we all had a great time.
Now it's right back to work. Happy Monday!

Lew Hunter

Last night I went blues dancing for the second time with one of my friends from work. It is really a cool mix of dance moves, put to Blues Music. It is held once a month in Century City and I really enjoy the people and the atmosphere. It makes me feel like I'm back in New York City because when I lived there, I used to go to a swing dancing event that was very similar.

Today I attended a seminar on screen writing that was taught by LEW HUNTER. He is a successful screen writer who has been nominated for an Emmy. The seminar was informative and a lot of fun.

This evening I went with a bunch of friends to a Karaoke bar called "Michael's" in Burbank. Before we left, though, we "warmed up" at my friend Todd's house because he has a whole sound system, two microphones and over 1000 Karaoke songs downloaded into his computer. The evening was really nice and tomorrow will be really busy as well.

Ever since I got back to Los Angeles from the Holidays, it seems like I have been a lot of places and hung out with a lot of people. Now that the strike is coming to an end (hopefully) I hope to be auditioning even more. I never heard anything back on either the Toyota commercial or the theme park spot, but I feel more auditions coming up this week!
