Before I got the job standing in I was choreographing and coaching a middle school dance team in between auditions. Last night, my coaching partner, Jade, and I went to a karaoke bar called "Dimples" and it was a blast.
Not only was there a stage and a microphone but there were a bunch of wigs, hats and props to make the singer a superstar. Jade sang "Say My Name" and danced around in a Beyonce wig while I chose a simple cowboy hat for my rendition of Nancy Sinatra's "These boots are made for walking".
After we were done, the Karaoke DJ presented us with DVD recordings of our performances and we ended the night at Jade's house showing two of our other friends the dances we had choreographed for the girls we coached.

Good 'ol Randolph

Recognize any of these people? Carmine Gaeta was a guidance counselor at Randolph Middle School, and Kayla Mae Maloney and Dan Ferraro were both seniors when I was a freshman at Randolph High School.
I ran into Kayla while working on an episode of Criminal Minds and I ran into Dan at a stand-up comic's house party! I knew Carmine was out here so we all met up for coffee and I interviewed them for the Daily Record. (Check out the article in the MCTV page today) RHS alum Ryan Calhoun is also featured in the article.
Carmine directed "The Crucible" at Randolph High School, which both Dan and I were in. Kayla was one of my senior mentors. She and Dan were in the same 4th grade homeroom and Carmine was their guidance counselor.
Small world!

Welcome back to LA
Got my New Years present from the Los Angeles Superior Court last night.
Packaged neatly in an envelope I found a citation with four blurry pictures of me and my car at an intersection from December 17th. The passenger and I both remember the traffic light and seeing a bright white flash as we drove through the yellow. We chalked the flash up to aliens at the time, turns out it was big brother after my first born.
After talking to my roommates, who have gotten similar tickets, I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to win in a "your word against our photos" case.
$400???? you've got to be kidding me!
