Casting Director Workshop

I attended a workshop with the casting director of "ER" this evening and it was very inspiring. He lectured on the business of acting and there was a question and answer session. It was very informative and now I am hoping to have the opportunity to audition for him.

Play By Play of My Life

Wednesday was a 14 hour day on the set of "The Riches". I got wrapped at 11:42, it took me an hour + to get home due to a late night freeway detour and when I got home around 1:00 AM, there was only parking on the wrong side of the road for 8:00 AM street sweeping. I took the first spot that I found and set my alarm to move my car by 7:30 to avoid a ticket.

In Los Angeles, they sweep each side of the street once a week and the streets never seem to be any cleaner. I really think it is just a way for the local government to take more of our very scarce money, considering that each street sweep ticket for vehicles left on the wrong side of the road is about $50.

Speaking of money, I had the day off today and I got my taxes done! It is a HUGE relief and they were not nearly as hard to do as I thought they would be:) I can't wait until I get my refund!

Call Back!

My roommate got a callback for the Burger King commercial. A callback is when the casting director asks to see certain performers again another day before making final decisions. He is a super juggler and his agent said they really liked him. Keep your fingers crossed:)

IMDB

My starmeter on IMDB.com went up 25% since last week! Help me keep that number climbing by going to http://www.imdb.com and then searching "Jaclyn Friedlander" once a day.

Update on how much my score went up next Monday:)

Auditions

Special Skills are a big part of the entertainment industry. One of my roommates has an audition for a Burger King commercial that he has to show up for prepared to juggle office supplies and file folders. He has come up with three sets of desk objects and spent the whole weekend practicing. I have my fingers crossed for him!
