Starter Jackets

Remember when Starter Jackets were all the rage?

Both of my roommates and I all have different memories of them.

My roommate Cazzey said that he was in 5th grade and he and his buddy used to let their girlfriends wear their starter jackets at recess. He lost his and she dumped him.

I lived in Chicago at the time and people were getting shot over starter jackets. I was going on a field trip downtown and one of the little boys insisted on wearing his starter. A few other little girls and I told him that he couldn't walk near us because if he got shot because of his stupid jacket, we didn't want to get shot for being witnesses.

My other roommate, Daniel, said that he never had a starter but he had a varsity jacket that a girl who liked him in high school asked to borrow it. He said "what if you lose it?" and she said "I'll pay you" to which he asked "How much?" She said, "I dunno, a dollar?" And he said "A dollar a period?" She said "okay". 5 periods and 5 dollars later she realized the feelings were not mutual and she gave the jacket back.

This morning I did something very similar...

One of my roommate has been using Bengay for a sore neck and it smells like mint. I put a little on my finger this morning to smell, and then rubbed it into my hands. A few minutes later I put my hands on my face and was rubbing my temples and jaw because I had a headache, and all of a sudden my face started burning.

Apparently Bengay makes the area it is applied to feel super hot. I thought my eyeballs were going to fall out.

Note to self, wash hands often.

I've Been Living In Los Angeles

for just short of a year so I sat down and I evaluated what I have accomplished thus far in my career since I have been in LA.

*I played a Dead Body on CSI: Miami
*I got a page on IMDB click here to see
*I got my SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) Card
*I was the lead in a play in North Hollywood
-from the play I got reviewed in 'Backstage West,' 'LA Weekly' and on 'Reviewplays.com'
*I stagemanaged a different play in North Hollywood
*I worked for 12 days on a movie for the Hallmark Channel
*I coached and choreographed a middle school dance team
*I booked a part in a feature film
*I Got a job as a stand-in on a TV show for FX
-I am now the female reader at the table reads for the show
*I have attended celebrity parties

Phew, and I have twice as many goals set for year two, which starts in a few days...I better rest up.

Oscars

The Oscars are on tonight and I have a friend who is going to be on them! My friend Crystal is doing a spoof on the "Devil Wears Prada" and has been hired to be a Meryl Streep look alike!

She stands-in on "The Riches" with me and we are so excited for her. She is going to be on either when they announce Ms. Streep or when they announce the move, so watch for her:)
