Yesterday someone asked "what does it take to be on the academy voting committee and is that one of your goals."

It is my understanding that to be part of the academy you must be an accomplished writer with at least 4 major screenwriting credits. If this goal is met you must then have several writers and respected industry professionals write recommendation letters on your behalf. The current members of the academy then vote on the applicants.

Is it one of my goals to be a voter? No
Is it one of my goals to have my name on a ballot for the academy voters? My goal is simply to have a long and successful career acting. Everything else is icing on the cake:)
